Turning the page on the calendar and realizing that three
quarters of the year have come and gone without my weight decreasing but a few
pounds is depressing but nothing new. It’s the same story, but different
year. Last month marked my fifteenth wedding anniversary and also the
fifteenth year that I have weighed over 300 lbs. The last few years, I
have weighed closer to but never reaching 400 lbs. This is not an accomplishment
to be proud of; I’m just stating a fact. Actually as far as weight and
health are concerned, there is nothing to be proud of. With diabetes,
high blood pressure and high cholesterol, time is not on my side. Fifteen
years over 300 lbs and at least twenty years over 200 lbs is way too long and
not doing me any favors. We all know this already.
It is way past time to get things rolling. Never
giving up, I will keep on trying. Will this month prove to be a success
or just more of the same? Only time will tell for sure. I don’t
feel like spewing out all the hopes and promises that I will get on the
ball. I’m thinking it; just don’t want to blurt it out yet again.
One day, one meal at a time I will try to make the right choices.
Since it is now October, my daily goal for walking steps
will be increased to 3000. This will be a struggle. I didn’t meet
by 2500 steps/day goal for most days last week. I will make more of an
effort this week/month.
That's all I've got today. Have a great week and start to October.
:( Good Luck!!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it! Don't worry about the month, just today. All you have to do is get today right. Tomorrow will be today soon enough.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I find Tony Robbins quotes very uplifting and motivational. I say...find what it is that continually transforms your mind, and you'll transform your eating habits, your body, and your life. Best of luck with your transformation!
ReplyDelete"Never giving up, I will keep on trying."
ReplyDeleteYOU CAN DO IT
I like Marc's idea too
All the best Jan
You can do it!
ReplyDeleteThat's right... Never give up! Every time you eat something you make a choice...you vote with your mouth. Even making good choices for 1/2 of the day is better than throwing the whole day down the drain. I love this quote: Just because you drop one egg, doesn't mean you throw the whole carton in the floor! I've been struggling lately, too. The school I work in seems to be on carb overload...breakfast pastries, bagels, donuts, cake for birthdays, cake for baby showers... I haven't always made good choices. Buttercream frosting is my achilles heel. I'm not giving up either!!
ReplyDeleteYep, I think it's best to take it one step at a time, one meal at a time, one day at a time. Do you read Brooke, Not On A Diet? http://brookenotonadiet.com/
ReplyDeleteShe's lost 176 pounds and done it with diet and exercise, and only joined a gym to lose the last 30 or so pounds. It took her four years, but she stuck with it.
I have faith that you can do this! Hugs!!
You haven't updated for a week, let us know what's happening
ReplyDeleteHere's to us both having a healthy weekend - I am planning smoothies and trying to reduce my wine intake for the weekend. :D Hugs!
