My chosen weigh-in
day is Sunday for two reasons: 1) it's the start of a new week and 2) to
dissuade me from having a food fest blowout all weekend. Because the 4th of July is on a Saturday this
year, I thought about weighing in Saturday morning rather than Sunday. It wasn't because I wanted to eat tons and
tons, but I knew that we would be having baked potato salad and burgers. I was worried the food and increased sodium
would cause me a gain. I'm not going to
lie, it took me a while to make the decision.
I really wanted to have a nice time on the 4th without worrying about
food. In the end, I decided not to step
on the scale Saturday. I felt like I
would be cheating myself if I weighed in early so I didn't. Still, I thought about weighing to see what the number was so I would know
just how careful I should be, but I didn't do that either. Instead, I went on with my day, enjoyed
myself , tried to be careful, but still exceeded my daily calorie limit by over
500 calories (brownies are my weakness).
It wasn't a blowout and the scale reported a three pound loss for the
week. I was surprised to have a nice
loss for two weeks in a row, but I won't be complaining anytime soon
either. This morning I weighed 380 and
am now looking forward to being in the 370's soon.
This has been a
relaxing three day weekend and I enjoyed myself immensely. I'm feeling tired and will close for
now. How was your weekend? Did you overeat or stay the course?
Thanks for stopping

Tammy
Great job on the loss! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteJust catching up with you Tammy and I am so proud of you! Only going 500 calories over on a holiday is a win in my book! Gah, I did overeat a bit on vacation - I did get 10k steps in 5 days though, and I had a healthy breakfast - but pimento cheese and crackers and wine were a daily event! But I am back on track and need to put my wine glass away for a while and I have a stocked fridge with healthy stuff :D
ReplyDeleteSuper news Tammy.
ReplyDeleteHappy July ...
All the best Jan
Congrats on your recent weight loss! :-)
ReplyDeleteAwesome job Tammy. Isn't it crazy how we sometimes try to convince ourselves it would be better to do this than this? just in case? I am glad you stayed with your decision and weigh in on Sunday. Plus only over 500 calories, on a holiday weekend? Double kudos to you. As for me, well since hubby had to work, we just did our usual. Only caved in once for a small treat. Hope your week goes well,
ReplyDeleteMany hugs,
Ah, holiday eating sigh... :) I had an epic 5lb bounce on Monday's weigh-in, but today the scale is down 2lbs, and I'm back in my maintenance range. The other 3lbs will disappear over the next few days, and then this weekend it will happen again when we go on vacation lol.
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and now following!
I did the same thing this weekend - I didn't track everything and didn't exercise as much as I usually do, but still tried to watch my portions and only eat when hungry. I made sure I at least had time for a 20-minute walk each day. I DID enjoy some chips and dip, some wine, and a delicious homemade cupcake, and am right back down (plus a little lower!) on the scale as of today.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on another great week for you! Good job especially with it being the BBQ holiday weekend. I think you deserve extra kudos for not getting on the scale earlier so you'd have to be somewhat conscious of what you would be eating, even though you gave yourself some slack. I believe we sometimes have to loosen the grip a bit so we can enjoy special events/moments and then continue to be successful at the "regular" times.
ReplyDeleteGreat job LTR, keep going!
