Gosh, it has been six days since
my last post. I suppose I should come
out of hiding, face the music and move forward.
Yesterday’s weigh-in results was
disappointing but not a surprise (to me).
Previous
Weight: 382 lbs
Current Weight: 386 lbs
The truth is obvious; I have
been eating junk and a lot of it. I gained four pounds. I have
no excuse and none would be acceptable. I’m
not going to dwell on it. Instead, I
will work on eating better today, and tomorrow, and the next day, etc.
We had a four-day weekend and I
loved it. The sun is still shining in
Seattle and I am thrilled. It came early
this year. I hope it doesn’t leave early
as well. As expected though, the 4th
of July was overcast a good part of the day.
Late afternoon and on, the sun was bright. It was a great day. My husband and I slept in and had a relaxing
start to the day. Around noon we headed
up to the camp site and spent the rest of the afternoon with my sister and her
family. My nephew kept me busy as I knew
he would. His favorite activity seemed
to be shoveling gravel into his dump truck and relocating it only to repeat the
process several times over. I more
enjoyed hiding an object and having him try to find it. I tried to give him “you’re getting warmer”
or “you’re getting colder” hints, but I’m not sure he completely understood
what I was trying to do. Then when it
was my turn to find the object, immediately after opening my eyes, he would say
“okay you can find it now, I hid it in the shed” or tell me wherever the exact
location was. He is so cute and so
fun.
The rest of the weekend was very
restful. I was not looking forward to
working today, but at least it was from home.
My desk at home is right up against the window so it nice to feel the
warmth from the sun. I’ll be back in the
office tomorrow and while I face the window, there is another desk between it
and me. Plus we face our parking garage
so it is just not the same as being home.
Oh well, who has time to look out the window. I expect a busy week, but hopefully not too
stressful.
So far today, my eating is right
on track. Next step is to repeat this
tomorrow.
Have a great week!
Sometimes, especially in the beginning of this journey, taking it only one day at a time is best. That way, you aren't 'biting off more than you can chew.' (all food/eating puns aside.) Just try to make each day the best you can make it. Wash, rinse, repeat. But only worry about your choices TODAY. :)
ReplyDeleteGood advice Gwen, thank you.
DeleteI agree with Gwen. I am still just trying to survive, one day at a time. Your little nephew sounds absolutely adorable! What a precious little guy. =) It sounds like you had a pretty enjoyable holiday.
ReplyDeleteI have come to the determination that weight loss is a continual process for every day for the rest of my life. So a few days really mean nothing in the long run if you get right back on track. Just don't let it put you down and cause you to lose more time. I have had weeks where I have gained some back but the longer I stick with it the easier it seems to be.
ReplyDeleteYou will win this battle!!
Totally agree with Gwen. Only take it "One Meal" at a time. Planning is a great tool. It takes time and can be a lot of work, but just plan for one meal. Perhaps the meal that gives you temptation to go off course.
ReplyDeleteIt is a long long journey and we are "all" in this together.
Until later.......
Hi! Get back on track. Every good action counts. I suspect that most of that weight is water weight, as I constantly see for members in my weight loss group. Keep upbeat. The more good health decisions you consistently make, the better your health. Btw, I did not eat so good for 2 days this week either. It's like 3 steps forward and 2 steps back sometimes. :p

You're back on track now and that's what is important. For most of us, we've lived our entire lives eating a certain way, changing our eating patterns after all those years does take some getting used to. There are days when it'll be easier and there are days when it's going to be hard, but stay strong. You can do this!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you had a great vacation! Your nephew sounds so fun! The holidays are going to be the hardest time for all of us, every holiday is based around good food, and now you'll know how to handle the next one. Those pounds are going to come right off, you got this!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you had a nice long weekend. We all have minor setbacks, the main thing is to face the music and get right back on track, which you have already done. Good for you. :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun weekend!
ReplyDeleteGood for you for getting back on-track! Sometimes I think that's the hardest part of all.
New follower....I just popped over from another blog.
